About the scholarship
Supporting M膩ori, Pacific and learners with a disability and/or learning challenge with achieving their higher vocational education aspirations.
Toi Ohomai recognises that graduates of higher-level tertiary education programmes play an important role in supporting the economic and social wellbeing and prosperity of their communities and wh膩nau.
The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage the retention of M膩ori, Pacific, and learners with disabilities and/or learning challenges into higher levels of tertiary study at鈥疶oi Ohomai.
Learners completing higher-level qualifications not only contributes valuable skills and knowledge to our region and Aotearoa 爆走黑料, but also provide important role models for educational success to future students and their wh膩nau.

Applications for these scholarships are not open until Friday, 1 November 2025.
Entry requirements
Eligibility
- Applicants need to be a graduate (within two years) of a鈥疶oi Ohomai course (one year or six-months)
- Applied and been accepted into a higher-level course of study (part-time or full time) (eg. if you have previously completed and graduated with a Level 3 certificate, your 2025 studies will be at Level 4 or above)
- Complete the appropriate application (M膩ori learner, Pacific learner, learner with a Disability and/or learning challenge) via the correct link below
Also provide the following with your application:
- A letter from a Toi Ohomai staff member (teaching or non-teaching), or support person as outlined in each application.
- A cover letter describing the following:
- Whakapapa, Pacific Island lineage, Disability disclosure
- Your study and career pathway
- Financial situation

Criteria
Applicants must provide the following:
- A cover letter with their pepeha or Pacific Island lineage (if applicable) and a brief description of how completing your higher learning course will contribute to your future goals, aspirations, whanau/family and/or community
- Their study and career/employment plan; How financial hardship may impact their study
- A support letter from an academic staff member (teaching or non-teaching), doctor or medical specialist to support their application
