About the scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to enable ±¬×ߺÚÁÏers to study international relationships or social and economic conditions at a university overseas. Candidates will be planning to study at Master's or PhD level.This scholarship is offered by Universities ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ (UNZ) and applications can be made on their website by following the link below.Value/Benefits: Financial assistance with the costs associated with university study, to a value of $12,000 per annum for up to two years for Master's, or up to three years for Doctoral (PhD) Level of Study: Master's; Doctoral Closing Date: 1 April (NZT) (via the UNZ website) Tenure: Up to two years for Master's. Up to three years for Doctoral (PhD) Number Available Annually: One (conditional on sufficient funding being available) Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Please refer to the regulations Citizenship/Residency Requirements: Must be a citizen of ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ, or hold a ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ residence class visa For more information, or to apply, click here.Applicants must:have graduated with or be graduating with an Honours or Masters degree in arts, science, commerce, law or divinity from a ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ universitybe ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ citizens or permanent residents.The intent of this scholarship is that applicants will not yet have studied abroad and will be applying for enrolment in a research Masters degree or a PhD at an overseas university in Europe, Asia or the USA.Please note that to be eligible a planned Masters degree must have a substantial research component, i.e. at least half.The funds for this scholarship are provided by the income from a bequest made in 1951 by Isabel Evelyn Spencer Watson to the University of ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ. The scholarship is a memorial to her nephew, Clement Gordon Watson.
