About the scholarship

The Office of Maori Advancement offers scholarships in order to encourage and support Maori students to undertake study at AUT and to encourage success and advancement.
The scholarships are designed to encourage Maori success and advancement.

How To Apply

Application for this scholarship is through the AUT on-line scholarship application system. The link will be available from above from 1 March in the year of application.. Applicants will be asked to upload: - An official transcript of academic results in the current and preceding year unless the study was attempted through AUT. - This may be in the form of an NZQA record of achievement or a transcript from another tertiary institution. - A personal statement including their Whakapapa Maori, U ki te kaupapa, and their contribution to Maori kaupapa. Applicants will be asked to nominate through the online system one referee who can speak in support of their leadership through service.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have been accepted onto full-time study for a certificate, diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme at AUT Applicants must be NZ citizens or permanent residents. Applicants must nominate a referee from a community group, organisation or school who will support the applicant’s leadership through service. Applicants will be asked to: - State their Whakapapa Maori - U ki te kaupapa – demonstrate adherence to/ awareness of the collective vision, aspiration and purpose of Maori communities. - Demonstrate their contribution to Maori kaupapa –-the collective vision, aspiration and purpose of Maori communities.
