About the scholarship

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) provides Maori and Pacific Postgraduate Equity ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ to encourage Postgraduate Maori and Pacific leadership, scholarship and academic excellence at AUT University. AUT Maori and Pacific Postgraduate Equity Scholarship is available to Maori and Pacific students undertaking study at Level 8 or above (±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Qualifications Framework) who have demonstrated the potential to achieve highly. The ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ are available to AUT students or alumni intending to enrol in a postgraduate qualification at AUT. Preference will be given given to full-time students in their thesis stage of their Masters or who have been accepted into a doctoral degree at AUT University.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be either studying at AUT at the time of application or have completed their qualifying degree at AUT no more than two years prior at the time of application. Applicants must be registered in ARION as having Maori or Pacific ethnicity and would normally achieve a GPA greater than 6.5 (B+/A-) across a minimum of 120pts in the final year of their qualifying degree. Normally the award is conditional on the student enrolling in 120pts in an approved programme. Part-time applicants must address their need to study part-time in their personal statement. If an applicant has undertaken an approved international exchange programme during the final year of their qualifying degree the GPA will be assessed across the AUT papers only. Evidence of grades for papers undertaken as part of the exchange will be required once available. An applicant wishing special consideration under financial hardship will be required to provide evidence i.e. IRD statement of income plus supply a reference from someone other than a family member supporting the financial need.
