About the course

The Level 5 Diploma in Information Systems is designed to help our learners gain the working knowledge and basic understanding of Data Modelling and Software Development. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to become a Junior Software Developer.

Following this one year ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ diploma course you will be able to:

Learn to code in C# using Visual Studio and deploy simple working applications. Design and develop for the web using Bootstrap framework including HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. Develop user-friendly applications using UI and UX concepts. Implement Business Process. Data Management using SQL. Write technical documentation for professional environments. Implement Project Management using Software Development Life Cycle. Install, configure and troubleshoot common computer problems. Apply Business ethics and professionalism in Information Technology. Implement hardware and networking configuration.

Entry requirements

There are no mandatory prerequisites for this qualification. Learners enrolling are recommended to hold one of the following qualifications, or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience. • NCEA Level 2 or 3 • ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User) (Level 3) [Ref: 2592] • ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Certificate in Computing (Advanced User) (Level 4) [Ref: 2593] • ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Certificate in Information Technology Essentials Qualification Reference 2596 Page 5 of 10 © ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Qualifications Authority 2015 (Level 4) [Ref: 2594] • ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Certificate in Information Technology (Level 5) [Ref: 2595] International students must have an appropriate level of English proficiency for the level at which they intend to study. Details of English language entry requirements are contained in the NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2013 (Appendix 2). E.g. IELTS Academic score of 5.5, with no band score lower than 5; or the ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Certificate in English Language (Academic) (Level 4) [Ref: 1883].
