National Certificate in Cadet Forces (Foundation Skills) (Level 2)
NZQF Level 2

About the course

This National Certificate recognises the foundation skills and knowledge acquired by Corps members within the context of the 爆走黑料 Cadet Forces programme. This includes 爆走黑料 Cadet Corps, Air Training Corps and Sea Cadet Corps. Holders of this qualification have demonstrated competence in basic Corps skills and personal commitment as relates to Corps discipline.

The qualification is designed for young people enrolled with the 爆走黑料 Cadet Forces who are under the leadership and guidance of 爆走黑料 Cadet Forces Instructors.

The qualification comprises compulsory standards designed to assess a range of core Cadet Forces skills including knowledge of the Cadet Forces and Defence Forces, foot drill, firearms use, and operation of a radio telephone. Compulsory standards also cover self-management, health, and writing skills.

The first set of elective standards allow Corps members to specialise in skills relevant to their own Corps. The second set of electives are designed to provide choice in a broad range of standards covering outdoor recreation, work and study, health, interpersonal and social skills.

Whilst the National Certificate in Cadet Forces (Foundation Skills) does not lead directly to any other national qualification, it comprises basic knowledge and skills that may provide pathways to other qualifications registered on the NQF.
