About the course
Through the NZ Diploma in Construction program you’ll learn about construction principles and methods, building legislation, conflict management, contract conditions and administration, environmental sustainability and how to quantify and estimate material and labour costs. This two-year qualification will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills to work with limited supervision as a Quantity Surveyor.Learn how to: Communicate in a construction related contextSelect materials and finishes for building projects, Administer construction contracts Present feasibility information and preliminary estimates to clientsAssemble quantity surveying documentation Collate all priced components into a tender submission.With more training, this qualification could be a starting point, leading to a career as a senior quantity surveyor, registered quantity surveyor or contracts manager.Â
