For those wanting to add counselling theory and skills to their health or education profession, the Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Studies (PGCertCounSt) will provide the knowledge and practice to enhance your professional helping skills with a range of clients, students, or colleagues.

The PGCertCounSt is also an ideal pathway into applying for the , a degree which enables graduates to obtain provisional membership with the ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Association of Counsellors (NZAC).

Note: Due to high demand, applications for our February 2025 Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Studies are now closed.

To qualify for entry to the PGCertCounSt, you will need to have completed an Aotearoa ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ bachelor’s degree with a B Grade Point Average or higher in your 300-level courses, or equivalent, and be approved to enrol.

If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC's .
