About the course

Micro-credential Overview This micro-credential is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to support a person with a disability in a health or wellbeing setting. It is also designed to support outcomes that enable them to live a good life in Aotearoa ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ, and for the support worker to reflect on their own practice.

Learning outcomes:

The ability to understand Enabling Good Lives initiatives and the impact on future support services in Aotearoa ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ. The ability to understand different service philosophies used in a wellbeing setting. Being able to work alongside a person to reach their personal goals and aspirations. Being able to evaluate their own practice.

Completion of this micro-credential may contribute to the achievement of our ±¬×ߺÚÁÏ Apprenticeship in Disability Support.

Prerequisites Learners need to be working in a relevant disability support sector that enables them to meet all micro-credential outcomes. Learners are also required to have reasonable computer literacy as micro-credential assessments are only offered online (via Aka Toi).
