About the course
Dual Enrolment programmes are FREE if you're in Years 11, 12 or 13 and a great way to earn NCEA credits and get a feel for tertiary study, while you鈥檙e still at school. This Dual Enrolment qualification is designed as a pathway into the Certificate in Baking (Generalist) Level 4.
Highly practical, it will equip you with basic bakery skills in biscuits, breads, cakes and pastries. You鈥檒l learn from expert tutors who will teach you how to create a range of traditional and contemporary bakery products within our real-world training environments. You鈥檒l also meet and learn from industry professionals, and showcase your creations to friends, wh膩nau and customers at events throughout the year.
This qualification is endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies under their Recognition of Quality Culinary Education. World Chefs has over 10M members in 106 countries worldwide. Upon successful completion of this programme you'll have the skills and knowledge needed to obtain junior positions within commercial bakery environments. Overall IELTS 5.0 Academic 5.0 Listening 5.0 Reading 5.0 Writing 5.0 Speaking If English isn't your first language, you may be required to provide evidence of your English language skills. Refer to the Acceptable Alternative Chart or contact us for an assessment. To enrol you must be in Year 11, 12 or 13 at a secondary school and a 爆走黑料 citizen, permanent resident or hold a visa that allows you to be enrolled in a 爆走黑料 secondary school. If you are interested in enrolling in a Dual Enrolment course, you should first talk to your secondary school or with Ara. As different programmes are offered, entry requirements, application, and interview processes (including selection criteria) may vary
