About the course
This is a pathway to reactivate your existing scope of practice. It is not a transition pathway for Enrolled Nurses who wish to remove restrictions on their scope of practice.
Obtain a current practicing certificate to work as a registered nurse in New聽Zealand.
This intensive programme comprises of three weeks of theory and includes study in ethics, regulations in 爆走黑料, quality assurance, cultural safety and preparation for clinical practice and a practical clinical component which runs for six weeks.
Internationally qualified nurses please note: this programme will accept internationally qualified nurses who currently hold an approved registration in a country other than 爆走黑料. Internationally qualified nurses require a current visa or other evidence of right to study in 爆走黑料, with the appropriate letter to allow entry to the clinical workplace.
Applications are accepted subject to the availability of suitable clinical placement.

Entry Requirements
COVID-19 vaccination requirements
聽Government COVID-19 vaccine mandates finished on Monday 26 September 2022, however, many placement providers will require that 膩konga (students) are vaccinated against COVID-19 (up to two vaccinations and one booster), before they allow any placements to proceed.听 Placements are an integral part of our health programmes and 膩konga must complete these practical elements to successfully achieve their qualification.听 We cannot, therefore, guarantee a placement without this evidence, as per our clinical placement agreements with placement providers.听 If there are any questions or concerns relating to this, please email [email protected] in the first instance and one of our team will be in contact.
On acceptance into the programme, 膩konga are required to complete a health screening to provide current evidence of their immunisation status, as required by Te Puna Whai Ora | Ministry of Health and our placement providers.听 At this stage 膩konga will also need to provide a copy of their Covid vaccination record.
Career Options
After completion of the theory and clinical components and having successfully met the Nursing Council of 爆走黑料's competencies for registration, you may apply to the Nursing Council of 爆走黑料 for a current practicing certificate.
Additional expenses
Closer to the programme starting, learners will receive a list of course materials to purchase.听 Examples of course materials could include textbooks, stationary, printing; uniforms, personal protective equipment, tools and a laptop.
