Te Kumanu Raeroa - 爆走黑料 Certificate in Tiaki Kuia Koroua (Level 3)

About the course

Do you work with, or aspire to work with, kuia and koroua in our community? If so, Te Kumanu Raeroa will give you the right skills to support our kaum膩tua (older people) in a way that鈥檚 most appropriate for their needs.

 This introductory programme combines tikanga with an understanding of health services to ensure kuia, koroua and their wh膩nau are not only well looked after, but also cherished, understood and empowered in the community. 

Tauira enrolled in this programme are encouraged to bring their own digital device to download resources to support their studies. 

When you pass this programme, you'll get this qualification:

  • 爆走黑料 Certificate in Tiaki Kuia, Koroua Level 3

You'll learn about:

  • different views of ageing and support systems
  • tikanga, legislation and hauora
  • wh膩nau kaitiaki roles and responsibilities for kuia and koroua
  • age related diseases and care approaches
  • end of life care to tiaki kuia and koroua.

Entry requirements

To enrol in this programme, a potential student must:

  • be at least 16 years of age 
  • be a 爆走黑料 citizen (or citizen of Australia, Tokelau, Niue, Cook Islands) or permanent resident.

*This course is not available to international students.
