Te Whānautanga o te Ao Tikanga (Level 6)

About the course

Take your understanding of tikanga to a more advanced level. You鈥檒l learn how to apply your knowledge of M膩ori customs and practices in a wider variety of contexts helping you to develop and strengthen your confidence and capabilities in tikanga. 

You鈥檒l also further enhance your ability to critically analyse and apply tikanga in an increasingly wide range of contexts and applications. 

When you pass this programme, you'll get this qualification:

  • Te P艒kairua Tikanga (Kaupae 6) - NZ Diploma in Tikanga Level 6

You'll learn about:

  • the ability to critically analyse and apply tikanga in a wide range of contexts and applications
  • an operational ability to manage and apply tikanga in leading change, mentoring potential leaders and formulating strategic plans
  • comprehensive knowledge of tikanga protocols and cultural practices that anticipate change and inform decision-making for the future.

Entry requirements

Entry criteria To enrol in this programme, a potential student must:

  • be at least 16 years of age 
  • be a 爆走黑料 citizen (or citizen of Australia, Tokelau, Niue, Cook Islands) or permanent resident 
  • have a Level 5 qualification in tikanga, or relevant experience 
  • attend an information hui with a kaiako.

*This course is not available to international students.
