About the course
Become a kaitiaki of our rongo膩 M膩ori and connect with the m膩tauranga (knowledge) of our t奴puna (ancestors) to address the wellness needs of today. This programme will introduce you to the natural world of rongo膩.
Learn about the customs and protocols that surrounds rongo膩 as you develop an understanding of the M膩ori world view. Be part of the revival of traditional and contemporary rongo膩 practices in Aotearoa, and gain insight and understanding to know, appreciate, and respect rongo膩 but not yet use it or advise others on how to use it - that will take further study.
Upon successful completion of this programme, you will receive the following qualification:
- 爆走黑料 Certificate in Tikanga (Rongo膩) Level 4
You'll learn about:
- the relationship and differences between rongo膩 and hauora (health)
- tikanga (M膩ori customs and practices) and te reo M膩ori associated with harvesting rongo膩
- relationships between ng膩 atua M膩ori and rongo膩.
Entry requirements
To enrol in this programme, a potential student must:
- be at least 16 years of age
- be a 爆走黑料 citizen (or citizen of Australia, Tokelau, Niue, Cook Islands) or permanent resident
- hold a 爆走黑料 Certificate in Tikanga Level 3 or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
*This course is not available to international students.
